Deluge Valve & Systems

Firetech Deluge Valve quick opening differential diaphragm deluge valve. A Deluge System is a fixed fire protection system in which the pipe system is empty until the deluge valve operates to distribute pressurized water from open nozzles or sprinklers.

The deluge system can be activated by a hydraulic, pneumatic, electric, or manual release system or any combination of these release systems. But, in all cases, the deluge valve itself is activated hydraulically. When the detection device is activated, the deluge valve is tripped and water flows into the piping system, discharging through all spray nozzles. In case failure of automatic activation system manual emergency activation is possible to actuate the deluge valve.

The valve is held closed by the system water pressure in the priming chamber, there by rendering the upstream system piping dry. During fire or test conditions, when the releasing system operates pressure is released from the priming chamber allowing the valve to open and to start the flow of water. Available in sizes 1 1/2″ and 2″ only, applicable for vertical/horizontal installations with pressures no higher than 250 psi / 17.25 bar. For operation by dry pilot line, manually, electrically or wet pilot line of sprinklers.
